Why these questions sound different in Las Vegas
Here's the thing about Las Vegas that most churches never solve: this is a 24-hour city, and a huge share of it works while the rest of America is at Sunday service. Dealers, cocktail servers, cooks, housekeepers, security, nurses, rideshare drivers — Sunday morning is a shift, not a sabbath. A church that only meets Sunday at 10 a.m. is closed exactly when this city is most awake. The Acts 2 church met "day by day" in homes (Acts 2:46), which means it bends around your schedule instead of the other way around. Add in the loneliest math in America — a metro full of transplants and tourists where a lot of people don't know their neighbors — and a living room with the Bible open is worth more here than almost anywhere.
They call it Sin City, which makes it exactly the kind of place Jesus kept showing up. The religious crowd of His day was scandalized by where He ate dinner and who He ate it with — tax collectors, party people, the ones respectable religion had written off (Matthew 9:10-13). If Jesus walked into Las Vegas tomorrow, He wouldn't be picketing the Strip. He'd be at a diner off Fremont at 3 a.m. talking to someone who just got off shift.
We're ordinary people around the valley — the Strip corridor, Summerlin, Henderson, North Las Vegas, the east side — who read the Bible in living rooms, eat together, and help where there's need. Nobody's paid. Nothing is collected. Whatever you do for work, whatever your last church experience was, whatever hour your shift ends, there's a seat at the table.

Who is Jesus, according to you?
The Christ, the Son of the living God — Peter's confession in Matthew 16:16, which Jesus called blessed. Savior and Lord, crucified and raised. Not a religion mascot and not a lucky charm. We keep the Bible's own wording on this.
Can God really forgive the stuff I've done here?
Yes — that's the entire point, and Vegas doesn't intimidate God. Jesus told a woman everyone had written off that He didn't condemn her (John 8:10-11), forgave a thief in his last hour (Luke 23:43), and made a tax fraud named Matthew into one of His closest friends. 'What happens here' does not outrank the cross.
Why does church always seem to be about money?
We can't speak for every church, but the first one never collected tithes — believers shared directly with each other 'as anyone had need' (Acts 2:45). Buildings and payrolls need revenue; the actual church never did. Nobody here is paid and nothing is collected, which in this city is either refreshing or suspicious until you see it hold.
I've been hurt by church. Why try again?
We're sorry — genuinely. A lot of what wounds people is the institution: the money pressure, the control, the performance. None of it comes from Jesus, who aimed His sharpest words at exactly that kind of religion (Matthew 23). Don't go back to what hurt you. Try a living room with no stage and no offering plate instead.
Do I have to quit my job on the Strip to follow Jesus?
Start by following Jesus and let Him lead the rest; that's not our call to make for you. When people met Jesus in the Gospels, He changed them from the inside out, and what needed to change became clear over time, with grace, not a rulebook handed over at the door. Come as you are and bring the real questions.
