Reno is more than casino light on the clouds. The Truckee River cuts straight through downtown, UNR climbs the hill to the north, families spread through Cold Springs and Damonte Ranch, and Sparks is part of daily life whether the address says Reno or not. This is a city of sharp weather and second starts.

We follow Jesus in living rooms, parks, and coffee-shop corners. We read Scripture, share meals, pray, baptize believers, and show up for neighbors. There is no building, paid leader, or collection.

What this is (and isn't)

Jesus Saves church is a global community of Jesus followers modeled on the first church in Acts 2 — before buildings, denominations, and programs. Nobody here is paid. Nobody will ask you for money. We meet wherever people can sit down together, which in Reno usually means somebody's living room or a table at Idlewild Park.

The Truckee ties together Idlewild, downtown, Wells Avenue, and east toward Sparks, but Reno’s neighborhoods live differently. Midtown can feel young and transient; northwest Reno carries students and long-time households; Sun Valley faces deep material need; south Reno keeps expanding across former open ground. Housing costs and winter nights press hard. The region also has a strong volunteer network working on hunger, youth homelessness, river health, and people rebuilding after crisis.

"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." — Acts 2:42. That's the whole model, and it moved into the streets every day. Learn Jesus' words, then live them in Reno: forgive, welcome, feed, serve, baptize, and help somebody else follow Him. The study is preparation. Love is the work.

Questions people in Reno ask

Is there a Jesus Saves church building in Reno?

No. We meet in homes and ordinary public places because the church is people practicing Acts 2:42-47.

Do you include Sparks and Sun Valley?

Yes. Put your general area in the form and we will look for people nearby or help you begin a small gathering.

Will anyone ask me for money?

No. There is no offering, salary, property fund, or donation page. Believers meet needs directly as Acts 2:44-45 describes.

Is this a recovery program?

No, though people in recovery are welcome. We can follow Jesus with you and point toward qualified local support when medical or recovery care is needed.

Can I attend if I am unsure what I believe?

Yes. Read Matthew with us, ask the real question, and take the time you need. There is no pressure to perform belief.
