Begin with a person, not a program
Read Matthew to meet Jesus in His words and actions. Watch whom He notices, what makes Him angry, and what He asks disciples to do. Read John next. John explains that his account was written so readers may believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and have life in His name (John 20:31).
The goal is obedience. Jesus compared the person who hears and acts on His words to someone building on rock (Matthew 7:24-27). Choose one clear command and practice it. Forgive someone. Tell the truth. Welcome a lonely person to your table. Make peace where you caused harm.
Share Christian life
Acts 2:41-47 describes the first days after baptism. The believers learned from the apostles, shared life, ate together, prayed, met in homes, and made sure needs were met. Find a few people who want that life. A building, stage, and paid leader are unnecessary. Honest relationships are not.
Keep the gospel in view
Christian growth is more than collecting Bible facts. Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. His resurrection gives hope when following Him becomes costly. Return to that news whenever shame, pride, or exhaustion begins driving you.
