Plan for the people who live in Anaheim

The resort district is not the whole city. If friends live in West Anaheim, start there instead of asking everybody to meet near the hotels. A parent in Ponderosa may need a table within walking distance. A restaurant worker near the Platinum Triangle may only have a weekday morning free. Ask about the week before choosing the address. A smaller circle people can return to will usually do more good than a central event they attend once.

The Downtown Anaheim Community Center room directory lists several rental choices. Its Board Room holds 15 to 20 people; the Weingart and Rotary rooms can accommodate up to 30 depending on setup. The center is at 250 E. Center Street. Submit a rental inquiry and ask about current fees, permitted use, accessibility, food, and insurance before inviting anyone. This is an option to investigate, not a free room we have reserved. For two friends beginning a Bible conversation, a home is often simpler.

Let a first meal be small

Invite people by name. Tell them the start and finish time, who else is coming, and that questions are welcome. Ask about children, food allergies, stairs, and preferred language without making anyone feel difficult. If English and Spanish are both used, read the passage in both languages and allow more time. Nobody should have to translate the whole evening without being asked.

Read Matthew 11:25-30. Jesus welcomes the weary and calls people to learn from Him. Ask what kind of burden the people at this Anaheim table are carrying, what Jesus promises, and what He does not promise. Following Him does not remove a late shift or a rent bill. It changes who we trust and how we carry one another's needs. Do not demand private disclosures to make the discussion feel deep.

Bring breakfast to someone coming home after a hotel night shift. Help an older neighbor prepare questions for a medical appointment, then sit with them if invited. Let a tired parent eat while trusted friends keep the children company in the same room. Help a new family understand one school message without taking control of their decisions. A person receiving help does not owe you a photograph, a testimony, or attendance at the next study.
